My Washer Doesn’t Work At All 

  1. No Power to the Washer
  • Check to make sure power is getting to the washer.
  • Check for a tripped circuit breaker or blown fuse.
  • Check to see if the power cord is disconnected at the washer, if so, you may need to contact a professional to repair or replace it.
  • Check for a tripped “GFI”

 

  1. Lid Switch

The washing machine won’t function without a working lid switch. Contact a professional to replace the lid switch, if needed. 

My Washer Fills and Drains at the Same Time

  1. Drain Hose
  • Your washing machine’s drain hose might be too low.
  • Your washing machine’s drain hose may be pushed too far in to the drain stand.

My Washer Doesn’t Drain 

  1. Lid Switch Assembly

The lid/door switch failure can make your washer stop pumping the water out and spin. Some lid switches can be checked with a multimeter, but door lock switches may not be able to be checked that way. Contact a professional to diagnose this issue. 

  1. Drain Pump or Hose
  • A clogged drain line.
  • A clogged drain pump.
  • A faulty drain pump.
  • A faulty water pump belt.
  • Some washers have a coin/debris trap. Check it out and clear it.

No Hot water

  • The hot water is turned on.
  • The washer’s fill hose screen is clogged.
  • The water inlet solenoid valve may be defective.
  • No power is going to the inlet solenoid valve.

Professional help is recommended for any repairs. 

No Cold Water

  • The cold water is turned on.
  • The washer’s fill hose screen is clogged.
  • The water inlet solenoid valve may be defective.
  • No power is going to the inlet solenoid valve. 

Professional help is recommended for any repairs.

There is no water at all 

  • The hot and cold water is turned on.
  • The washer’s fill hose screen is clogged.
  • The water inlet solenoid valve may be defective.
  • No power is going to the inlet solenoid valve.
